Step 1: Unbox Your Trezor

Inside your package, you should find:

  • Your Trezor device (Model One or Model T)

  • USB cable

  • Recovery seed cards

  • Magnetic dock (Model T only)

  • User manual and stickers

Before you begin, inspect the security seal on the box. If it appears tampered with, stop and contact Trezor Support immediately.

Click the “Start” button to begin the guided setup process.

Step 3: Install Trezor Suite

Trezor Suite is our official desktop and web app for managing your crypto securely.

Download Trezor Suite:

  • Visit trezor.io/trezor-suite

  • Choose the right version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux)

  • Follow installation instructions and launch the app

Trezor Suite allows you to:

  • View your portfolio

  • Send and receive crypto

  • Manage multiple accounts

  • Exchange assets securely

  • Track market prices

  • Access enhanced privacy features

You can also use the Trezor Suite Web version directly in your browser, though the desktop app is recommended for enhanced security.

Step 4: Connect Your Device

Plug in your Trezor using the supplied USB cable. Trezor Suite will automatically detect your device and prompt you to continue setup.

If this is your first time using the device, you’ll be asked to install the latest firmware. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.

Step 5: Create a New Wallet or Recover an Existing One

You’ll now be given two options:

  • Create new wallet – For first-time users. This will generate a brand-new recovery seed.

  • Recover wallet – If you’ve used Trezor before or are restoring from a lost or broken device.

āš ļø Important: Write down your recovery seed
During setup, you’ll be shown a 12- or 24-word recovery seed. This is your backup key. Write it down on the provided recovery card and store it somewhere safe—never share it online or take photos of it.

If you lose your device, your recovery seed is the only way to regain access to your funds.

Step 6: Set a PIN Code

To protect your Trezor from unauthorized access, you’ll be asked to create a PIN code. Choose a secure but memorable PIN—this adds another layer of physical protection for your wallet.

Step 7: Start Using Your Trezor

Once setup is complete, you can:

  • Send and receive cryptocurrency

  • Add and manage multiple wallets

  • Use advanced features like coin control and labeling

  • Connect with supported third-party apps (e.g., MetaMask for Ethereum)
